Even though the green dress in kinda plain, I still think it's cute. The cat made me all excited, but then there wasn't really any mention of a cat in the book. So sad. But other than the lack of cat(s), I still loved this book. I really liked the mixture of witches/warlocks, fairies, werewolves, and vampires.

So Sophie is a half-witch. But she doesn't know anything about how to control or use her powers, and that usually gets her into trouble. She gets sent to a boarding school full of magical beings. While there, she meets Jenna, the only vampire that goes there. Jenna is a little, pink obsessed, hyper, lesbian vampire. And I love her. She is my new favorite supporting character. Although I don't share a love of pink or prefer girls, I felt like I could somehow connect with her. Maybe cause we're both weird.

She also meets some other dark witches that want Sophie to join their coven. They all end up dead, not Sophie, after trying to raise a demon. Oops! She gets close to Archer Cross, a warlock, after getting detention with him. However, he's dating Elodie, one of the girls in the coven. Yet he and Sophie get REALLY close and make out at one point. She then finds out that he's an Eye, a group of people trying to kill witches and other magical beings and he runs away.

Sophie
A witch that doesn't know how to control her powers, she has often felt different and hasn't been close with people. She is the only one that believes Jenna is innocent when everyone thinks she hurt other students.

Jenna
My new favorite supporting character. She was so funny but also had a really sensitive side. I was so happy when she met another vampire and was able to start a relationship with her.

Archer
Sure he's all hot and bad boyish, but I didn't like him that much. I mean, he was lying to Sophie and everyone else. He could've gotten them hurt or killed. Nope, I prefer Cal.

Elodie
She's like the Regina George of the coven. She's the leader and the meanest. She's also determined to make Sophie unhappy. At the end of the book, she dies after trying to summon a demon.

Cal
He's the groundskeeper at Hecate Hall. We find out in the next book that he is betrothed to Sophie.

Overall, this book was great! It's a lot better than some magical boarding school books that I've read recently! I can't wait to read the rest of the trilogy!
